Active OOSH acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Nations Peoples and Traditional Custodians of the Awabakal, Wonnarua, Geawegal and Darkinjung Countries on which we learn, play, work, live and visit. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging who hold the traditions, wisdom and memories of culture for all Australians today.
We have so many exciting opportunities on offer all through the school term during our Before School and After School sessions, and even more during Vacation Care! Each week we run specialised programs in the areas listed below. These programs may be led by our experienced Educators or by external professionals. Children choose to engage in activities that interest them.
Each Active OOSH service offers a Homework Club each day which is supported by qualified Educators. Families are encouraged to provide direction on which homework tasks they would like their child to complete, under guidance, at OOSH. Our qualified educators support children with Phonics, Spelling, Grammar, Reading, Maths, Writing, Public Speaking and much more!
Children from schools without homework are invited to join Homework Club sessions. Our qualified Educators will collaborate with families to prepare individualised learning resources based on the child’s needs.
Active OOSH value child-led play and encourage children to choose to engage in activities that appeal to them.
Each service has a wide variety of activities on offer throughout each session to ensure the needs and interests of all children are able to be met. Our passionate educators are there to guide children who may require a little more support to build their confidence in trying new things.
Active OOSH is renowned around the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Regions for their amazing, cost-effective Vacation Care Programs. We pride ourselves on providing our OOSHies with a multitude of experiences, through excursions, incursions and Educator-led activities, that will be the highlight of their holidays!
