Active OOSH acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Nations Peoples and Traditional Custodians of the Awabakal, Worimi, Wonnarua and Darkinjung Countries on which we learn, play, work, live and visit. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging who hold the traditions, wisdom and memories of culture for all Australians today.
Active OOSH began in 2011 with the opening of Active OOSH Cameron Park. It came after our Director Josh, who was a classroom teacher in local schools, noticed a lack of quality Out of School Hours (OOSH) services. His goal has always been to provide a space where all children are welcome, valued and provided with opportunities for endless education in a meaningful and memorable way.
Active OOSH is renowned in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions for providing engaging and fun activities for local families that is reliable and cost-effective.
Josh graduated from the University of New England in 2006 with a Bachelor of Education (Primary). He worked as a Classroom Teacher in many local schools before starting Active OOSH in 2011.
