Active OOSH believes children’s well-being and learning is best supported through a responsive and flexible routine; one that accommodates both their individual and group needs. The routine is designed to provide children with the time and space required to engage in unhurried meaningful play and experience the joy of ‘being’ in the moment, fulfilling their learning desires. Our commitment to the environment is to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive clean indoor and outdoor area that enhances the children’s learning through the provision of natural and man-made materials. Our Educators model and teach children respect for the environment and the practice of sustainable behaviours that involve recycling, gardening and water/energy conservation.
Our Service philosophy aims to serve and work in the spirit of the community as we strive to advocate for and honour the precious time that is developing and nurturing our young children.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Awabakal People. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture while paying respect to knowledge holders and community members of the land. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future.
We aim to provide a Service that is supportive, stimulating, caring and inclusive. We strive to make each child feel important and welcome regardless of their background and social worlds.
We believe that OOSH should be a fun and safe place, whereby children have a voice are involved in the decision making process around programming and planning. At Active OOSH we recognise and value the importance of play which in turn supports our children’s learning and development.
We value the Family partnership and have an open door policy where families are encouraged to be involved within our Services. We value community involvement through active engagement and networking.
All educators at Active OOSH are expected to be positive role models and interact with and facilitate children’s play. We have qualified and experienced educators and pride ourselves on providing professional development experiences within our service.
Hygiene and lifestyle skills are scaffolded in our environment through an educated process. We are committed to contributing towards a more sustainable future by embedding practices that promote protection and preservation of our environment.
We endeavor to provide a high quality Service by following the Children’s Services Laws and Regulations as well as Implementing the My Time Our Place, Early Years Learning and The National Quality Frameworks in all aspects of the services daily operations.
At Active OOSH we aim to teach acceptance, respect and provide positive lifelong memories for all the children and families attending the service.
